As we close out another year along the Southeast coast, we're reflecting on everything our Surfrider chapters, volunteers, and partners have accomplished together. From Virginia to Georgia, our region continues to face urgent challenges - plastic pollution, water quality concerns, coastal development pressures, and climate-driven erosion - but this community continues to rise with determination, creativity, and unwavering commitment.
In 2025, our chapters strengthened their core programs, advanced key policy priorities, and deepened partnerships within their coastal communities. Volunteers ran beach cleanups, monitored water quality, advocated for healthier coasts, engaged youth leaders, and expanded Ocean Friendly initiatives across the region. We also invested in emerging leaders, supported new chapter growth, and grew participation in programs that connect people to the water in meaningful ways.
These accomplishments don’t happen by accident - they happen because of the passionate, persistent advocates who show up for their coastlines year after year. Whether you're a chapter leader, volunteer, partner organization, student, donor, or community member, this work is yours. Thank you.
To celebrate these achievements and provide a detailed look at the progress across our eight Southeast chapters, we’ve put together our 2025 Southeast Regional Impact Report. Inside, you’ll find highlights from major campaigns, program metrics, partnerships, and stories that paint a full picture of what we’ve achieved together.
Thank you for another year of protecting the places we love. We'll see you all on the coast in 2026.
